Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, Richinel Brug, officially opened Health & Hygiene Week at Sister Regina Primary School on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Organized by the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the annual event promotes healthy lifestyles, personal and dental hygiene, and mental wellbeing.
During the opening ceremony, attended by School Manager Samantha Beaton, PTA representatives, and students, Minister Brug encouraged children to take daily steps toward better health. “Health is more than not being sick,” he said, stressing the importance of good nutrition, exercise, and emotional balance.
Following the ribbon-cutting, students joined the Minister in a lively hula hoop contest led by PTA member Olga.
Throughout the week, guest speakers—including a dentist, doctor, social worker, and dietitian—will engage students through interactive sessions focused on wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention.
