Caribbean Cinemas was set to host a unique community celebration this Saturday as FREEGAN Food Foundation founder and managing director, DJ, prepared to mark his birthday with what has become an annual public movie event. The gathering, now in its fifth year, was scheduled for November 22nd at 9:30 in the morning, inviting residents to enjoy a free film, popcorn, and sodas.
This year’s theme was WICKED, with attendees encouraged to arrive in costume. Organizers said prizes would be awarded for the best outfits, whether inspired by Glinda, Elphaba, or any creative take on the musical’s characters.
DJ explained that the tradition began as a way to celebrate with as many people as possible, offering a moment of joy, inclusion, and community connection. He added that the event continued to reflect the FREEGAN mission of sharing and supporting the community.
The birthday screening remained completely free, with guests asked to RSVP via WhatsApp at +1-721-580-7174. Caribbean Cinemas in St. Maarten served as the venue for the morning celebration, which promised a lively blend of costumes, community spirit, and early-morning movie fun.
