After a pandemic-related hiatus, St. Dominic High School has triumphantly revived its beloved 24-Hour Lesson-a-Thon—an immersive marathon of learning, creativity, and school spirit that ran from Friday, November 28 to Saturday, November 29. The long-awaited return generated tremendous enthusiasm as 28 students and teachers committed to a full day of collaborative lessons, challenges, and friendly competition among the school’s four houses: Sr. Maria Goretti, St. Bakhita, St. John Paul II, and St. Michael the Archangel.

This year’s Lesson-a-Thon highlighted themes of resilience, innovation, and togetherness—qualities that have defined the St. Dominic community throughout recent years. The event opened with a formal etiquette dinner, setting the stage for a night filled with both structured learning and lively activities, including Welcome/Charades and one of the standout moments: the Visual Arts Department’s “Build the Teacher” challenge. Using limited materials, students designed creative prototype models of their teachers, showcasing teamwork and imagination.

The energy continued late into the night with performances and workshops by the Physical Education and Sports Department, featuring expressive dances, exercise activities, and spirited karaoke sessions that kept momentum high.

The 24-hour experience concluded with a gala breakfast at 6 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the announcement of Sr. Maria Goretti as the winning house. The school extended its appreciation to participating students, dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and the local businesses whose contributions helped bring the event to life.

The successful revival of the Lesson-a-Thon marks an important milestone for St. Dominic High School—celebrating learning, unity, and the enduring strength of its school community. Planning is already underway to make next year’s event even more memorable.
