Minister of Finance Marinka J. Gumbs has announced that Cg. 477,600 will be paid out to participating civil servants in December 2025, following the successful first year of the Government Savings Plan.

The voluntary program was launched in January 2025 after discussions with civil servants during the Minister’s Finance Friday walk-in sessions. The initiative allows participants to save Cg. 50, 100, or 200 per month, resulting in a net annual payout of Cg. 600, Cg. 1,200, or Cg. 2,400 at year’s end.

A total of 255 civil servants enrolled in the program this year, reflecting strong interest in financial planning and personal savings. According to the Minister, the payout highlights both the commitment of participants and the value of practical, people-centered financial policies.

Minister Gumbs said the savings plan is part of a broader effort to promote financial awareness, discipline, and long-term stability within the public sector. Registration for the 2026 Government Savings Plan remains open until December 31, 2025, and civil servants are encouraged to participate.
