The Minister of Finance, Honorable Marinka J. Gumbs, announced a series of customer service improvements at the Receiver’s Office, aimed at creating a more comfortable and efficient experience for taxpayers. Since October 2023, the office has been operating from the same building as the Postal Services, across from the Government Administration Building. After assuming office in May 2024, Minister Gumbs identified customer service at the Receiver’s Office as a priority.

As part of these improvements, seating was installed to allow visitors to wait comfortably while being assisted. The Minister emphasized that taxpayers deserve the same level of dignity and consideration provided in other government offices, noting that it was unacceptable for visitors to be required to stand while awaiting service.

Additional measures were also announced, including the introduction of a ticketing system to better manage customer flow and reduce uncertainty around waiting times. Efforts were further underway to reorganize and clear the parking area, including relocating towing-company operations, to improve accessibility for both staff and visitors. The Minister reaffirmed her commitment to practical, people-centered solutions that strengthen public service delivery across her departments.
