St. Maarten Police intensified controls in and around the Festival Village as part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety during major events.

Officers carried out checks before, during, and after shows, focusing on maintaining order, managing traffic flow, and preventing illegal activity. Preventative searches targeted narcotics and firearms, with recent operations resulting in 30 individuals and 12 vehicles being inspected. Police urged the public to cooperate as these measures continue in the coming days.

Meanwhile, KPSM called on scooter owners to collect impounded vehicles held over recent months. Owners were advised to visit the police station with proper documentation, including proof of ownership, valid ID, and road tax.

Authorities warned that unclaimed scooters may face legal disposal, while reminding riders to comply with licensing and helmet requirements at all times.
