Amuseum Naturalis at The Old House will host a free Endemic Animal Festival this weekend, aimed at raising awareness about St. Maarten’s native species and environmental conservation.
The event will feature educational presentations, interactive exhibits, and guided activities focused on the island’s endemic wildlife, including its birds, reptiles, and other locally protected species. Organizers said the festival is designed to promote understanding of biodiversity and the ecological importance of preserving natural habitats.
Families and students will be able to engage in hands-on learning activities, with information shared on conservation challenges, habitat protection, and ongoing environmental initiatives on the island.
The festival forms part of broader efforts by Amuseum Naturalis to support environmental education and community awareness. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend and participate in the day’s programming.
