Across the Caribbean, Female Founders Month and Mother’s Month are being marked by a wave of initiatives highlighting the growing influence of women in business, leadership, and regional development.

At the forefront is Vision to Velocity 2026, a leadership conference that brought together more than 100 entrepreneurs, professionals, and emerging leaders from across the region. The event focused on practical strategies in public relations, branding, and monetization, while addressing a growing concern among Caribbean entrepreneurs—burnout, limited access to reliable business guidance, and the challenge of scaling in small island economies.

Regional data continues to show that women make up a significant portion of small and medium-sized business owners in the Caribbean, yet many still face barriers in funding, visibility, and access to global markets. Events like Vision to Velocity are increasingly being positioned as critical spaces for bridging that gap—offering not just theory, but real-world insight from Caribbean leaders actively building and expanding businesses.

The conference also emphasized generational impact, with initiatives targeting young women between the ages of 17 and 25—reinforcing a broader regional push toward mentorship and leadership development as key drivers of long-term economic resilience.

Meanwhile, Caribbean POSH is marking a major milestone—10 years of amplifying and connecting Caribbean women across the region and its diaspora. Founded to address the lack of visibility for Caribbean female leaders, the platform has evolved into a regional movement supporting collaboration, recognition, and global positioning.

As part of its anniversary activities, nominations are now open for the ICON Woman Awards, inviting the public to recognize women making measurable impact in business, leadership, and community development—further reinforcing the region’s shift toward celebrating female-led success.

In parallel, regional visibility is also expanding within the pageant and events industry. A casting call is now underway for the Essence and Mind International Swimsuit Pageant, set for October 2026. Organizers are engaging participants across the Caribbean and beyond, reflecting a broader trend of regional platforms gaining international attention and participation.

Caribbean women are playing an increasingly central role in shaping business, culture, and leadership across the region—building not only enterprises, but long-term legacy.
