As NV GEBE prepares to reopen recruitment for its Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operations Officer positions, questions are growing over local leadership and the future direction of the utility company.

During a recent press conference, Temporary Manager Iris Arrindell confirmed she is not interested in pursuing a permanent executive role, saying her focus remains on helping GEBE during her current assignment before retirement.

Facilities Manager and former CEO Kenrick Chittick also indicated he is not currently seeking a top position, though he said circumstances can change.

The discussion has reignited debate over whether experienced local professionals should be given greater consideration for GEBE’s top jobs, especially since local managers have repeatedly stepped in during periods of crisis, transition, and public concern.

Supporters of local leadership argue that institutional knowledge, continuity, and community trust are important assets at a time when GEBE is working to stabilize operations, address financial challenges, and rebuild public confidence.

The reopening of the recruitment process is expected to be closely watched.
