The University of St. Martin has announced a leadership transition, with Dr. G.A. Carmona Báez concluding his tenure as President as of July 1.

The Board of Directors says the university remains fully operational and that all academic programs, student services, partnerships, and strategic initiatives will continue without interruption.

To guide the institution during the transition, the Board has appointed a three-member Interim Management Team made up of Robert Judd, Jan van Beek, and Juliana Shipley-Hodge.

The team will oversee USM’s day-to-day operations while the Board finalizes arrangements for the university’s next phase of leadership.

Dr. Carmona Báez served as President for eight years. The Board thanked him for his leadership, commitment, and contributions to the continued development of the university.

The Board says it expects to appoint a new President in a timely manner and remains confident in USM’s ability to continue serving St. Martin and the wider Caribbean.

For now, USM says its focus remains on stability, continuity, and student success during this transition.
