The FREEGAN Foundation has honored one of its longest-serving volunteers, Signita Martin, with a surprise luncheon celebrating her 80th birthday and years of dedicated community service.
Held at Tortuga Maho, the celebration brought together members of the FREEGAN team and Martin's son to recognize her remarkable commitment to the organization. For many years, Martin has volunteered four days each week, becoming a familiar and valued presence through her compassion, reliability, and willingness to help others.
Managing Director DJ de Jong described Martin as one of the reasons FREEGAN has become a welcoming place for so many people, saying her warmth, generosity, and positive spirit have touched countless lives within the community.
The luncheon was sponsored by Tortuga Maho in recognition of both Martin's outstanding volunteer service and the work of the FREEGAN Foundation. Organizers said her continued dedication demonstrates that community service has no age limit and serves as an inspiration to volunteers of all generations.
FREEGAN extended its appreciation to Tortuga Maho for supporting the event and wished Martin continued good health and many more years of making a positive difference in the lives of others.
