Anguilla's biggest cultural celebration gets underway this week as the 2026 Summer Festival officially opens on Wednesday, July 29, under the theme "Anguilla for Summer."
The festival features nearly two weeks of events celebrating the island's music, culture, heritage, and world-famous boat racing. Highlights include the Junior Calypso Monarch, Soca Monarch, Band Clash, Miss Anguilla Pageant, and the colorful Grand Parade of Troupes.
One of the festival's biggest attractions is August Monday, when thousands of revelers take to the streets before gathering at Sandy Ground for an all-day beach party featuring international and regional performers, DJs, food, and the prestigious Sir Emile Gumbs Boat Race.
The celebrations conclude on August 9 with the Champion of Champions Boat Races and a fireworks display over Sandy Ground.
Quick Fact: Anguilla's Summer Festival dates back to 1974 and was created to commemorate Emancipation, making it one of the island's most important cultural celebrations.
Shout-out: To all our viewers in Anguilla—have a safe and memorable Summer Festival!
