Seventy-two aspiring and existing entrepreneurs have qualified to participate in the Start Smart Sint Maarten Pilot Project.
The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry says community interest exceeded expectations. Following a review of the applications, COCI confirmed that every eligible applicant will be accommodated through careful planning and the efficient use of project resources.
Training sessions begin next week and will provide participants with practical guidance in financial management, marketing, artificial intelligence, customer engagement, and other essential business skills.
The training program is expected to continue through mid-October.
Start Smart Sint Maarten was developed to assist entrepreneurs with formalizing their businesses while strengthening the knowledge and skills needed to operate and grow successfully.
COCI thanked the project’s sponsors, stakeholders, and training providers for supporting the initiative.
The Chamber says investing in entrepreneurship can create meaningful opportunities for local micro and small businesses while helping Sint Maarten build a more resilient and diversified economy.
COCI says it will continue following participants’ progress and celebrating their achievements throughout the pilot program.
