Fleming Waste Solutions has taken VROMI to court over payments the company says remain outstanding for completed work.

Company owner Derek Fleming told SMN News that several invoices were rejected, including invoices connected to workers who operated Government-owned equipment at the landfill.

Fleming says those operators worked from approximately late February until July tenth, when his company was removed from the equipment schedule.

According to Fleming, the company received no formal notice that the arrangement was ending and did not receive clarification after contacting the Ministry.

Fleming says the loss of the equipment-operation assignment left him without work for three trained local operators, who were subsequently terminated.

The company had operated Government-owned landfill machinery for nearly five years, according to Fleming.

The dispute is now before the court, and the claims have not been adjudicated.

VROMI’s response was not included in the report. Fleming Waste Solutions says it is seeking payment for work it maintains was completed.
