Princess Juliana International Airport has unveiled the Princess Juliana’s Gallery of Changemakers, honoring individuals whose leadership, service, vision and contributions have helped shape Sint Maarten and, in several cases, the airport itself.
The inaugural group was selected by an internal PJIA committee, with honorees and family members invited to the unveiling. Families of those who have passed away were also present to represent their loved ones and preserve their legacies.
The gallery was incorporated into PJIA’s ongoing rebuilding efforts, using a restored wall near the Cargo Building along the road toward Maho. PJIA CEO Michael Cleaver says the initiative reflects the airport’s place in the island’s history and the importance of remembering those who helped build the community.
The airport says additional Changemakers will be recognized in the future, while individual stories from the inaugural group will be featured on PJIA’s social media platforms.
