BESTLIFE2030 is preparing its next round of conservation funding, with about 9.6 million euros expected to be available across its third and fourth calls for proposals.

The third call is currently expected to open on October 7th, with funding aimed at locally led conservation projects across Europe’s Overseas territories.

The program supports work such as ecosystem restoration, biodiversity monitoring, invasive-species control and sustainable management of natural resources.

Projects already underway include whale monitoring using artificial intelligence in French Polynesia, lagoon restoration in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon and invasive-species management in Greenland.

BESTLIFE2030 says lessons from those projects will help shape the next phase of funding, with an emphasis on long-term impact, local capacity and practical conservation solutions.

Further details on eligibility and applications are expected to be released ahead of the October launch.
