KPSM is reporting two major developments, including an armed robbery in Cupecoy and a coordinated enforcement operation in Cay Hill.
On Wednesday afternoon, two men dressed in dark clothing reportedly robbed a Chinese supermarket on Jordan Road while threatening those inside with a firearm.
As police responded, a patrol vehicle was involved in a crash on Welfare Road near IGY Simpson Bay Marina. Two officers were taken for medical evaluation after the vehicle struck a traffic signal pole and fencing while trying to avoid another vehicle.
In a separate operation, KPSM joined Customs, Immigration and the Royal Marechaussee at a hotel in Cay Hill.
Eighteen people were arrested for illegal stay. Police also detained a man wanted in connection with several jewelry-store robberies, while another man and two women were arrested in connection with firearm possession and other suspected criminal activity.
Authorities say coordinated enforcement operations targeting trafficking, smuggling, firearms and organized crime will continue.
