LOUIS BROWN APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF CADASTRE SUPERVISORY BOARD
Louis Brown has been appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the St. Maarten Cadastre and Mortgage Registry Foundation for a three-year term.
The appointment was made on the nomination of Finance Minister Marinka Gumbs and has now been formally published in the Landscourant.
Ernesto Leoncito Lake has also been appointed to the Supervisory Board for a three-year term.
Brown brings experience in public administration, spatial planning, infrastructure and disaster management. He previously served as Secretary General of VROMI and earlier worked in disaster management at the St. Maarten Fire Department.
The appointments followed a formal recruitment process supported by the Government Accountants Bureau, along with review by the Corporate Governance Council.
The board had been operating with several vacancies after resignations and expired terms.
Under the foundation’s statutes, the Supervisory Board must have between three and five members.
The new appointments restore leadership and additional capacity to the Cadastre’s oversight structure.
