Accessibility upgrades are coming to the Over the Bank area (Eagle Road) in Philipsburg following an agreement involving Kadaster St. Maarten, Accessible Ventures Transportation and the Ministry of VROMI.

Residents in the area have been informed that work will include repairs and improvements to the existing concrete pedestrian walkway, along with construction of a new wheelchair-accessible ramp connecting the public parking area to the bridge crossing the Rolandus Canal.

Once the work is completed, VROMI will take responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of both the bridge and the new ramp.

Residents are being asked to remove any personal belongings or other items blocking the pathway so contractors can safely access the area and carry out the work.

The project is intended to improve mobility and provide safer, more dignified access for residents, including persons who use wheelchairs or have limited mobility.
