Health Minister Claret Connor is encouraging men across Sint Maarten to take prostate cancer screening seriously after participating in the ongoing “Man UP, Check UP” campaign.

Connor, joined by male members of his Cabinet, took part in PSA testing on Saturday and says more than 500 men have already been screened through the campaign.

He says the turnout shows growing awareness that regular health checks and early detection are important, even for men who feel healthy and have no symptoms.

Additional PSA screenings are scheduled for Friday, September 25th at St. Maarten Medical Center.

Connor also participated in a men’s health discussion organized by the ELEKTRAlytes Foundation and Positive Foundation, where healthcare professionals addressed prostate cancer, nutrition, fitness and early detection.

The minister says improving men’s health requires cooperation between government, healthcare providers, community organizations and families.

He is urging men to encourage fathers, brothers, sons, friends and colleagues to get checked and make preventive health part of their regular routine.
