St. Maarten is being called on to support the 37ers as the back-to-back Little League champions prepare to represent the island at the Baseball in Paradise Tournament in Aruba beginning October 10th.
The team, which plays under the Destined for Greatness Foundation, will be supported through the Friendly Island Softball Classic at Jose Lake Ball Park.
The community event will feature a Locals versus Tourists softball matchup, with free admission and donations welcomed.
Organizers say money raised will go directly toward the team’s travel, accommodations and tournament expenses.
The event will also serve as an official community send-off for the young athletes.
Families, businesses, sports fans and visitors are being encouraged to attend, wear St. Maarten colors and cheer on the team before they leave for Aruba.
The 37ers earned the opportunity after winning back-to-back Little League championships and will now take that success onto the regional stage.
