Police have arrested a 17-year-old suspect following the robbery of a visitor on Cannegieter Street Monday afternoon.
KPSM says two visitors were walking in the area when the suspect allegedly tried to pull a chain from around one man’s neck.
The victim resisted, but police say the suspect managed to take the chain and ran from the area.
Officers from the Bike Team, who were nearby, immediately began searching after receiving a description.
The teenager was found a short time later hiding behind a dumpster on Voges Street.
Police say the stolen chain was recovered from his possession.
The suspect was arrested without further incident and remains in custody while the investigation continues.
