Collective Prevention Services, the Department of Sport, the Division of Public Education and Stichting EGO have launched a back-to-school campaign promoting healthier habits among children and families in Sint Maarten.

The campaign focuses on five simple messages: Eat Smart, Drink Water, Sleep Well, Move More and Less Screen Time.

The initiative is based on findings from the Sint Maarten Child Monitor 2025, which identified opportunities to improve children’s nutrition, physical activity, sleep and overall well-being.

Organizers say healthier daily routines can also support concentration, energy, behavior and school performance. Campaign messages will be shared through posters, flyers, social media, schools and community outreach over the coming months.

Materials will be distributed to schools, daycare centers, healthcare providers and other community locations, while partner organizations will also reach parents and caregivers through their communication channels.

Health Minister Claret Connor says establishing healthy habits during childhood can support lifelong health, while Education Minister Melissa Gumbs emphasized that promoting children’s well-being is a shared responsibility involving families, schools, healthcare providers and the wider community.
