Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor Claret Connor is leading a Sint Maarten delegation at the 63rd Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization, PAHO, in Washington, D.C.
The annual meeting brings together health ministers and senior health officials from across the Americas to discuss regional public health priorities and strategies to strengthen healthcare systems.
Connor is joined by VSA Secretary General Joy Arnell, Head of Public Health Fenna Arnell and Cabinet Advisor Dominique Hodge.
The delegation is participating in discussions on health emergency preparedness, primary healthcare, digital transformation, disease prevention and health-system resilience.
Representatives from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Aruba and Curaçao are also attending, providing opportunities for bilateral discussions and cooperation on shared health priorities.
Sint Maarten will also engage with PAHO and regional counterparts on technical cooperation and opportunities to strengthen local health services.
The ministry says participation reinforces Sint Maarten’s commitment to regional public health cooperation and continued development of its healthcare system.
