A cultural screening and discussion event called Karakolor – Same Roots, New Connections will take place in St. Martin on Thursday, October 1st, 2026.
The event will feature a screening of the short film Karakolor, along with discussions on cultural initiatives taking place in Africa and the Caribbean.
Organizers say the evening will focus on shared languages, culture, memory and future projects, while creating new connections between local, Caribbean and African participants.
The program runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by open discussions at Coffee and Soda Biscuit in St. Martin.
The event will also explore ideas and projects for St. Martin and beyond, with an emphasis on cultural identity, cooperation and stronger links between communities across the Caribbean and Africa.
