SAINT-MARTIN Collectivité President Louis Mussington has been ordered to appear in court on January 11th, 2027, after a hearing into alleged conflicts of interest involving employment decisions was postponed.
The case concerns seven employment-related decisions involving five relatives or close connections, including transfers, appointments, secondments and contract renewals between 2022 and 2024. Prosecutors allege Mussington unlawfully took interests in decisions he authorized as president.
Mussington did not attend the October 5th hearing. His attorney cited health concerns and delays in receiving the case file, while prosecutors opposed the postponement. The court ultimately granted additional preparation time but ordered Mussington to attend the next hearing in person.
No ruling has been made on the allegations, and the case has not yet been examined on its merits. Mussington remains presumed innocent.
He is also expected in court on October 7th with four vice-presidents in a separate case involving alleged personal use of Collectivité vehicles.
