ST. EUSTATIUS has introduced temporary island-wide water rationing as utility officials work to restore production capacity.
Statia Utility Company, STUCO, says water service will be disconnected each night from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
The rationing began on Sunday, October 11th, and is expected to remain in place for two days while tank levels are replenished.
STUCO says two of its four water plants are currently out of service.
Technical crews are working to resolve a problem affecting one of the larger plants, while a smaller plant has been temporarily shut down to allow installation of a new water plant.
The utility says additional updates will be provided as work progresses.
A big shout-out to our viewers in St. Eustatius.
