VSA Minister Claret Connor says reform of the VSA Inspectorate is moving forward, with organizational assessments completed and proposals now developed to strengthen supervision, enforcement and public access.

The reform covers the Inspectorate’s legal framework, organizational structure, staffing, procedures and systems, while supporting draft legislation remains under review.

Connor says individual staff profiling and workplace assessments have already started, with the next phase focusing on teamwork, professional development and stronger internal coordination.

Plans also include a modernized website that would serve as a central point for residents to access information and submit questions, complaints and concerns.

The proposals have not yet received final approval.

The Ministry is expected to spend 2027 developing a practical implementation roadmap, setting out how the reforms will be introduced and prioritized.

Connor says the goal is to build an Inspectorate better equipped to respond to Sint Maarten’s current and future needs.
